BA Intercultural Theology, Migration and church Leadership - starting WS 2012/2013
The BA programme Intercultural Theology, Migration and Church Leadership addresses primarily people who took over or will take over responsibilities as preachers or leaders in congregations with a migration background.
The 8-semester part-time course imparts students with knowledge e.g. in the area of interculturality and belief, intercultural hermeneutics, migration, religious studies and interreligious dialogue as well as in practical theology.
This programme will be offered from WS 2012/2013.
BA Mission Studies and Intercultural Diakonia - starting WS 2012/2013
The BA programme Mission Studies and Intercultural Diakonia addresses people who are interested in working in diaconal or social institutions worldwide.
The 6-semester course imparts students with knowledge in the area of mission studies as well as foundations, history and diaconal practice. Students also gain knowledge in gender and disability studies as well as basics in development projects. The development of intercultural knowledge is a priority during the whole studies.
This programme will be offered from WS 2012/2013.
MA Intercultural Theology
Since the winter semester 2009/2010 the Faculty of Theology of the University Göttingen in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences for Intercultural Theology in foundation offers an internationally oriented 4-semester master programme. Language of instruction is English. Places of study are Göttingen and Hermannsburg as well as, in general, one semester at an international partner institution.
The course addresses graduates from different disciplines with an academic or a comparable degree.
The master programme shall enable students to reflect the international and intercultural character of Christianity theologically to enter into a dialogue with people of different belief and to communicate the Christian gospel in different cultural and religious contexts.
Master of Theology (phasing out)
The Master of Theology, at the moment offered in cooperation with the Mission School, Faculty of Theology, in Stavanger (Norway), will be phased out in summer 2012.
It is not possible to join this programme.
